  1. What are the check-in and check-out times at Marigold Cottage?

    Our standard check-in time is 3:00 PM, while check-out is 10:00 AM. We understand that guests may have special circumstances requiring early or late check-outs. To be accommodating, we are flexible to extend a one-hour grace period for check-ins by 2:00 PM and check-outs until 11:00 AM, subject to availability and provided that there are no conflicting bookings. Please note that the availability of early check-ins or late check-outs is often known closer to the booking date.

    Any variations to check-in or check-out times must be pre-arranged with the hosts and agreed upon prior to arrival. Under no circumstances should guests exceed the agreed booking window.

    In cases where it is agreed that the check-out time exceeds one hour after 11:00 AM, an additional half-day booking cost will be incurred, and guests must leave the property by 2:00 PM. A full-day booking will be charged if guests check out after 2:00 PM. This policy ensures that our housekeeping staff has sufficient time to prepare the property for the next guests. If guests check-in before 2:00 PM, an additional half-day booking cost will be incurred. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

    At Marigold Cottage, we want to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. We offer two options for Bedrooms 2 and 3: 2 king singles or 1 king bed to ensure we meet your needs. Bedroom 1 has one king bed, and Bedroom 4 is a queen sofa bed. Please note that these arrangements must be pre-arranged before your check-in, and we will be in touch to confirm these before check-in.

    Yes, Marigold Cottage is wheelchair accessible. The entry door has a ramp and is 810mm wide, allowing easy access for both manual and mechanical wheelchairs.
    The ensuite is also accessible and features a 20mm high ramp for easy self-access. Grab rails are available for the shower and toilet, and we can provide a shower stool on request.
    The outdoors at Marigold Cottage are fairly flat, making it suitable for strolling around with a wheelchair. We understand that everyone's needs and abilities are different, so if you have specific requirements or concerns, please let us know. We aim to make your stay as comfortable and accessible as possible.
    Please note that the entry door is 810mm wide, and internal doors minimum 710mm throughout the property, providing accessible pathways throughout the cottage.

    A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 30 days before arrival.

  12. What is the cancellation policy for Marigold Cottage?
    100% of paid prepayments are refundable 30 days before arrival or earlier, and 50% of paid prepayments are refundable 14 days before arrival or earlier. No refund is available if cancelled after that.

  13. Is there a damage deposit required for Marigold Cottage?
    A pre-authorization of $250 is due one day before arrival and will be released five days after departure.

    Marigold Cottage is located just a stone's throw away from the historic town centre of Hartley, Blackheath, and Lithgow, where guests can explore excellent cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, and recreational activities. Horse and dirt bike riding, native bushland access, nature walks, and spectacular mountain lookouts are some options available. Guests can also visit other famous attractions such as the Jenolan Caves (a 50-minute drive), Three Sisters in Katoomba (a 30-minute drive), and Botanical Gardens in Mount Tomah (a 30-minute drive).

You are also welcome to drive past the property at your convenience and take a look from the outside.

The owners reserve the right to temporarily or permanently remove the fire pit in the event of fire warnings, hot weather, or other conditions that could pose a fire risk or damage to the property.

    Some wood will be provided for the fire pit, but guests must be considerate. Additional wood must be purchased by the guests or collected from deadwood around the property.

  21. Can we use the indoor fireplace wood for the fire pit?
    No, guests are strictly prohibited from using indoor fireplace wood for the fire pit.

  22. Are there any additional charges for using the fire pit?
    Guests who fail to comply with the rules outlined in the rental agreement may incur additional charges.

    Yes, guests are responsible for cleaning up the fire pit area and leaving it in the same condition as provided.

    Any damage or loss caused due to the use of the fire pit is the full liability of the guests.

    The property owner assumes no responsibility or liability for any injuries, damages, or losses that may occur due to using the fire pit. Guests use the fire pit at their own risk.

    The designated quiet hours at Marigold Cottage are from 10 pm to 8 am every day. During these hours, we kindly request that noise levels be kept to a minimum to respect the tranquillity of the property and the surrounding neighbourhood.

    To be considerate of other guests and neighbours, please always avoid excessive noise. This includes refraining from loud conversations, playing loud music, or using electronic devices with loudspeakers.

  28. How does Marigold Cottage ensure compliance with noise regulations?
    We may have non-intrusive sound devices to monitor noise levels to ensure compliance with noise regulations. These devices are designed to alert us of any significant disturbances, allowing us to address the issue promptly and respectfully. If noise levels exceed acceptable limits, we reserve the right to contact guests via SMS or phone to address the issue promptly. In cases where there is no positive response or improvement in noise levels within a reasonable timeframe, we may need to involve the local authorities, including contacting the police, to ensure the comfort and well-being of all guests and neighbours.
